If you need dependable traffic immediately, then pay per click (PPC) is a good answer.
Google Ads, which used to be called Adwords, is the perfect solution when you need immediate traffic. Let’s say you don’t yet rank well for certain important targeted keywords, or your business has a seasonal period when you need to make a large percentage of your sales.
Google Ads has two verisions of campaigns: the “regular” Google Ads and Smart campaigns. The simplified Smart version may work for your business. But for a more targeted, granular and more effective approach the professional level Google Ads may be best for you.
SEO, bulding content and proactive linking all take time. On-page content changes won’t affect rankings for 2–3 weeks. Incoming links usually take at least two months to boost placement. But ads from Google Ads can get customers onto your site within an hour or so. Google Ads generates predictable traffic that can be increased, decreased or paused whenever you want. Basically, you just set a monthly budget and bid on keywords. When a Google searcher clicks on one of your ads, your account is deducted the cost of the current bid on that keyword. Divide your monthly budget by 30 days (or more correclty, 30.4) to get the daily spend. Each day when the total of clicks reaches your daily spend, the ads shut off until the following day.
You may increase or decrease your Google Ad bids. Tweak your ads and find the ones that perform best. Add more targeted keywords. We have set up and we manage several PPC ad campaigns for our clients. Many clients augment their normal search results with PPC ads. Even though they may rank number 1 for several terms they often use PPC to ensure that their site gets traffic for those terms they may not rank as highly for.
